​OPERATION: Honor our Vets. (OP: HOV)
In today's world there is a lot of stigma surrounding our Veterans. From the young to the old, many of them have seen and done things that most of you would never consider.
While most of us are living our cushy little lives, most of them are facing things that we only ever see in movies.
Not only do they not get the respect they deserve from our government, but they also don’t get the respect they deserve from the people of this Nation. And to top it off, many of them come home having to deal with issues such as PTSD.

PTSD is nothing new, but it has only been brought to light some years ago with many of our service men and women dealing with it on a daily basis. Thankfully, over time we have been able to come up with treatments to help them. Unfortunately for a lot, they either can’t afford to get help or what is being given is not enough.
PTSD is nothing to play around with and can be caused by many reasons. Simple things can be a trigger. Things that you and I take for granted every day, that we see everyday, that we hear every day can be a trigger to someone with PTSD.

     Common symptoms of PTSD
  • vivid flashbacks (feeling like the trauma is happening right now)
  • intrusive thoughts or images.
  • nightmares.
  • intense distress at real or symbolic reminders of the trauma.
  • physical sensations such as pain, sweating, nausea or trembling.
Symptoms can also include severe anxiety, as well as uncontrollable thoughts about the event. Most people who go through traumatic events may have temporary difficulty adjusting and coping.

OP: HOV is being set to help raise awareness on these issues and to Honor every Veteran of this Nation whether they face the issue above or not. (They still deserve our utmost respect.)
OP: HOV will also be used as a fundraiser by different non-profit groups by designing and selling our OP: HOV shirts. 50% of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to the group you choose in the order form. Other groups may be brought in as time goes on. All of these groups have been selected because of what they offer and do for our Veterans.
